How to check a wallet
Check a wallet allows you to manually check a wallet address before you decide whether to interact with it. The check helps you review address risk information from the Calypso dashboard.
This guide describes the manual UI check flow. It does not affect automatic AML and compliance checks that Calypso runs for deposits, payouts, or other product flows.
Open Check a wallet
To check a wallet:
- Open your Calypso Pay dashboard.
- Go to the
Compliancesection. - Open
Check a wallet. - Select the blockchain.
- Enter the wallet address.
- Click
Check address.
After the check is complete, Calypso shows the check result on the page.
Free checks
Most companies have a limited number of free manual wallet checks.
The number of checks available to your company is shown above the form:
3 free checks left2 free checks left1 free check left
A successful manual check uses one free check after Calypso returns the wallet check result.
Technical errors do not use a free check. If a check fails because of a temporary technical issue, try again later.
Companies with extended access may have a higher limit or may not see this limitation.
When no free checks are left
When your company has used all available free checks, the page shows:
No free checks left. Request more
At this point, the wallet check form is disabled:
- the blockchain selector cannot be changed;
- the wallet address field cannot be edited;
- the
Check addressbutton is unavailable.
To continue using Check a wallet, request extended access.
Request more checks
To request extended access:
- Click
Request more. - Review the confirmation modal.
- Click
Send request.
Calypso sends the request for review. After the request is sent, the modal closes and the page shows:
Request sent. We'll be in touch.
What happens after the request
After you send the request, the Calypso team reviews it and contacts you. If the request is approved, your company can receive extended access to manual wallet checks.
If access has already been requested, Calypso does not create duplicate requests. The page keeps the request sent state.
Sending the request does not affect automatic AML and compliance checks in Calypso product flows. Deposits, payouts, and other system checks continue to work independently from the manual Check a wallet limit.
FAQ
Does this limit affect payouts or deposits?
No. The limit applies only to manual checks made from the Check a wallet page in the UI.
Are automatic compliance checks counted?
No. Automatic checks for deposits, payouts, and other product flows do not use the manual Check a wallet limit.
What happens if a check fails because of a technical error?
Technical errors do not use a free check. Only a successful manual check uses one check.
Can my company get more checks?
Yes. Use Request more after the free checks are used. The Calypso team will review your request and contact you.
